The Center for Management Development has introduced several new programs.  We've heard your suggestions and designed a new line of highly-focused, technical programs that give you essential tools needed to remain current with most effective and useful practices in business today.

Here are a few of the topics the Center for Management Development will be offering this year:

  • Budgeting: From Creation to Application - Industry trends have caused companies to become much leaner than they have been in the past. This has driven employees to broaden their areas of expertise and amplified the need to understand numerous functional areas of business. This essential course in budgeting will give you the ABC's of putting together a workable budget, walk you through the successful methods for projecting revenues and expenses.

 

  • Business Modeling and Data Analysis: Using Data to Make Better Decisions - Many of us collect mountains of data and information at work, yet we aren't quite sure how to put that information to work to make better business decisions.  This program gives you the tools and understanding you need to put to use the data you're probably already gathering, but have no idea how to leverage.

 

  • Effective Project Management: Techniques for Executing On-Time, On-Budget Projects - Designed specifically to deliver proven Project Management tools in a condensed two-day format. You'll gain hands-on experience and real-life applications for many of the most widely recognized project management methods in business, including Work Breakdown Structure, Gantt charts, and an Earned Value Analysis. You are sure to come away  from this seminar better prepared to confidently manage porjects of any size using the most effective techniques available. 

 

  • Essential Skills for Effective Leaders - This course offers proven and effective leadership techniques that are practical and useful.   •  Lean Healthcare -  Lean Healthcare is a set of management tools that empower healthcare professionals to improve the efficiency of processes and flow of information in Healthcare environments.  Lean management principles have been adopted by hospitals, clinics, laboratories and specialty hospitals to enhance quality, lower the cost of care and create more efficient systems.

Somewhere between the successful completion of the prestigious PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) certificate and your entry into the field of project managment lays a vast body of knowledge you cannot afford to be without. The CMD has designed an outstanding program that develops a thorough understanding and practical application of the universally recognized tools every project manager needs.

 

This program will lay a solid foundation of useful project management skills that will help ensure you job of planning, executing and closing projects is successful from start to finish. In addition, the skills you gain compliment your pursuit of the internationally recognized PMP®  credentials sought after by many employers.

 

To complete your CMD Project Management Certificate you'll need to complete four of the core curriculum courses below and select any two supporting courses from the provided list.

Project Management Professional (PMP® )

 

If you enjoy the prestige that comes from being the best in your field, then you'll appreciate the professional advantages derived from attaining the PMP, the profession's most globally recognized and respected credential. The PMP designation following your name tells current and potential employers you have demostrated a solid foundation of knowledge from which you can competently practice project management.

 

To be eligible for a PMP Credential, you must first meet specific educational and project management experience requirmements and agree to adhere to a code of professional conduct. The final step to becoming a PMP is passing a rigorous multiple-choice examination designed to objectively assess and measure your ability to apply project management knowledge in the following six domains: initiating the project, planning the project, executing the project, monitoring and controlling the project, closing the project, and professional and social responsbility. This computer-based examination is administered globally with translations aids in 10 languages.

*Applicants who hold a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) are only required to have 4,500 hours leading and directing specific tasks and 36 months of project management experience.
